Archetypal What What?

You may have heard of Carl Gustav Jung. You may have heard the word Archetype. But what the heck is archetypal patterning and what does it have to do with your life?

Have you ever had an emotionally charged reaction to a situation, or said or done something you swore you weren't going to say or do? In the framework of Depth Psychology, these experiences are termed "complexes." Complexes are emotionally charged behaviors that we aren't able to change by our will alone. Carl Jung theorized that the root energy underlying a complex is from the archetypal realm, deep in the unconscious.

Perhaps you're not dealing so much with regrettable behavior as a sense of restlessness, or persistent dreams, or maybe you're noticing synchonicities or "God winks" that give you the sense that there is something more to life, but you don't have a clue as to how to explore it.

Archetypal patterning sessions with me involve dialog to discover and feel into what the source energies are that are stirring in you, and to create strategies to integrate them into your consciousness.

There are a variety of archetypal groupings that may be helpful. Dr. Jung's groupings include Child, Mother, Hero, Trickster, Anima, Animus, and more. Scriptural archetypes from the Christian tradition center around Christ-consciousness, including Divine Child, Mother, Father, Angel/Messenger, the array of persons Jesus encountered in his life, and the image of the Passion, Crucifixion, and Resurrection. There are archetypes represented by the Gods and Goddesses of Greek mythology that reveal profound insights into human dynamics of desire, betrayal, beauty, and instinctual freedom. The Hindu Gods and Goddesses are also associated with physical postures, called 'yoga asanas.' Esoteric symbol systems such as astrology and Tarot provide images that represent dynamics between the same energies.

If you are curious about how archetypal patterning could support your healing, creativity, fulfillment, and increase your capacity to be with difficult experiences in a nonreactive way, I encourage you to schedule an Inquiry appointment - free of charge.

You are being called.
